Voices from the South: Storytelling for Impact is a training program by CNN Academy, designed for emerging journalists from the Global South. Regions across the Global South are often at the forefront of global health crises, yet their stories remain underrepresented in mainstream coverage. This program empowers a new generation of storytellers to report facts with depth, empathy, and urgency—highlighting the human experience behind the headlines. Whether uncovering the realities of vaccine equity in Sub-Saharan Africa, documenting humanitarian crises in conflict zones, or capturing the resilience of front line workers, participants will learn to craft compelling, context-rich stories that drive awareness, accountability, and meaningful action.
Gangadharan’s work experience and reporting skills helped him get selected for the esteemed program and he cannot wait to get started.
