On 10th April, we will host our first Oorvani Change Network event for 2026 titled ‘Pawsitive co-existence – Communities shaping humane cities’. This event will focus on community action that has worked in the space of human-canine co-existence.
India’s cities are increasingly witnessing human–canine conflict. On one hand, there are compassionate citizens who care deeply for animals; on the other, concerns around safety and fear of disease and injury from dog bites are shaping public perception. Recent court directions on removing dogs from certain public spaces have added another layer to this complex issue.
In this context, we’re hosting a conversation to learn from real community experiences — places where people have found ways to peacefully co-exist with community dogs.
What to expect:
- Real stories from neighbourhoods that have made co-existence work
- Practical insights on reducing conflict and building understanding
- A space for open, balanced discussion
Please register here to learn from communities who have managed to live with safety and compassion
